Frederic Raphael (b. 1931) is an Anglo-American novelist, screenwriter (Darling, Two for the Road, Eyes Wide Shut) and classicist, best known for The Glittering Prizes. The cover features a photograph of a rusted, bullet-riddled metal sheet with a red Star of David painted over it, against a black ground.
