The classic English-language account of the 20 July 1944 plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, by Roger Manvell and Heinrich Fraenkel, collaborators on a long series of books on Nazi figures. The book describes Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, whose photograph appears as the frontispiece (taken at the time of his marriage in 1933), as well as the broader strands of the German Resistance involved in the conspiracy.
