Hermann Rauschning's controversial record of conversations he claimed to have held with Adolf Hitler, in which the Nazi leader sets out his plans for war, racial domination and the destruction of the existing order, published in 1940 as a warning to the West.
Hermann Rauschning, a former National Socialist president of the Danzig Senate who broke with the party and fled, presented the work as first-hand testimony; though its authenticity has since been debated, it was hugely influential during the war.
